Ken is a retired Professor of Accounting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he taught federal income taxes primarily to Master of Accountancy students.

He first became interested in art when, many years ago, he saw a print of Cezanne’s Card Players. As a result, he took as many elective art history courses as he could while an undergraduate student. After six years in public accounting plus four and half years in graduate school, he accepted a faculty position at UTK. After here for a few years, and having no experience in drawing or painting, he decided to take painting classes at various places in Knoxville to see how one produces a painting and to see if he could learn to paint.

He currently is a student in one of Aurora Bull’s classes. Currently, he likes to paint various subjects such as landscapes and cityscapes, especially of places he and his family have visited.

Interestingly, when visiting the Musée d’Orsay in Paris a few years ago, he got to see the original Cezanne painting the was reproduced in the Card Players print
